Vitaly  Anikeenko  was a Ukrainian-Russian professional ice hockey player. 

Born in Kiev, Anikienko spent the entirety of his professional hockey career with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl save for the a loan spell with Metallurg Novokuznetsk during 2007-08. He a member of the Russian national team in the IIHF World Championship in the under 18 and under 20 levels. Anikienko was drafted 70th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators. Anikienko died along with most of the Lokomotiv team in a plane crash on the first day of the 2011–12 season. On September 7, 2011, Anikeyenko was killed, when a Yakovlev Yak-42 passenger aircraft, carrying nearly his entire Lokomotiv team, crashed just outside Yaroslavl, Russia. The team was traveling to Minsk to play their opening game of the season, with its coaching staff and prospects. Lokomotiv officials said "'everyone from the main roster was on the plane plus four players from the youth team.'’
